Sports results for Wed 26 June

Badminton
Girls - The girls were faced with a tough opposition in the formn of Riccarton High away, however this did not deter them as the produced a huge effort. The match came down to the last doubles game, which Hagley just lost, making the score 6-3.
Boys - The boys badminton team played against a senior side from Riccarton, and eventually went down 7-2. Special mention goes to Daniel Carvey for filling in for a team that struggles to field a 4-person team each week. Despite this adversity, theyb boys produced a gutsy performance, in managing to take a few games away from their opposition.

Basketball
Junior Boys vs Year 10 - The two Hagley boys teams entered in the Wednesday competition faced off against one another, with the result destined to be close due to their last match being a draw. The result was what some may suggest an upset, as the less fancied junior team defeated the Year 10s by 28-24. Led superbly in the closing stages by sharp-shooting Ezra Wood, the Juniors were extremely pleased with this result.

Football
Senior Girls - Our senior girls team faced off against a well-drilled Hornby High side and, despite a valiant effort, lost 3-0.

Netball

Junior Girls - With a team of just 7, the junior squad battled away against a Middleton Grange team that had pace and height on all areas of the court. After an extremely tough first half, the girls played some great netball in the 3rd quarter, matching Middleton Grange in skill and dedication. The final result was 35-9, with player of the day going to Phoebe Gardiner, for persistence at centre throughout the entire match.
Senior Girls - The senior team produced a powerful performance, running out comfortable victors against Rangi Ruru by 32-13. A great result!
